My cakes I do for family and friends |
This is my diary of cakes and sugar cookies I have created for family and friends. I began this process in answer to a promise made to my daughters that I would make their wedding cakes. Our first daughter was married in June 2008. I took classes and continue to practice on my own. I love to be able to express myself creatively. This feels like creating edible sculpture. |
Shawna's Baby Shower cake 2010The wedding cake was delicious and I was asked to create a cake for Shawna's baby shower using the buttermilk lemon cake. While I have found and amazing recipe for fondant, I am still a fan of icing a cake and using fondant as a decoration.

Valerie's Bridal shower cake 2008 Valerie cutting her shower cake. The cake was filled with swiss buttercream and a lemon curd. The icing was a cream cheese frosting. I used a lemon buttermilk recipe I found online that was very moist. I had poured a lemon syrup on the cake when it was removed from the oven.
